Etappe 3  Überlingen - Kressborn-Gohren

6 July 2011

Riding down from the Park Hotel was a whole lot easier and we sailed down the hill to the lakeside with the wind whistling in our hair....

We soon reached Meersburg with it's pretty main street and clock tower. Cycling on we had plenty of opportunity to view the Zeppelins flying above especially as we neared their home base of Friedrichshafen.

Shortly before, we stopped for lunch and a friendly waiter gave us lots of insider tips to lead us through little villages and avoid the standard bik epath alongside the main highway. He also recommended a visit to the Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshafen which proved well worthwhile with lots of interesting information about the development of Zeppelin technology..... there was even a reproduction of the interior of the Hindenburg, impressive the luxury that existed for the upper classes even back in those days.

This was the shortest leg of the tour (a mere 51 kms...! ) and we soon reached the Yacht Harbour/Shipyard in Kressborn-Gohren. As interesting as the mass of boats are to view, there was not a lot more to see or do there, so we had no other choice than to visit the exclusive yacht club store where Tanja got a new pearl necklace to match her T-Shirt.
